Privacy Policy

• Account information: your email address and password (handled securely by our authentication provider, Supabase; we never see or store your raw password).
• Content you create: book details, story structure and beats, tasks, roadmap stages, edit-pass notes, editor candidate entries, ARC reader entries, mailing-list subscribers, and any cover images you upload.
• Payment status: if you subscribe, we store your subscription status and a reference ID from our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• AI feature inputs: if you use an AI-assisted feature (beat bridging, outline or template generation, or research link search), the text you submit is sent to Anthropic to generate a suggestion or perform a web search. If you use the Feedback Digest (Pro), the review text and private feedback your ARC readers left you is sent to Anthropic to summarize for you, and the resulting summary is kept on your book until you delete it or your account is deleted.

We use your information to operate Ledger: storing your data across sessions, processing subscription payments, and generating AI suggestions when you ask for them. We use Vercel Analytics for cookieless, privacy-friendly usage analytics (which pages get visited, which features get used) to understand how Ledger is actually used. We don't sell your data, and we don't use advertising trackers or track you across other sites.

We use a small number of service providers ("subprocessors") to run Ledger. Each only receives the data it needs to do its job:

• Supabase: database, authentication, and file storage.
• Anthropic: generates AI suggestions and runs web searches for the research tool, and only receives the specific text you submit to an AI feature.
• Stripe: processes subscription payments and stores your payment details directly; we never see your card number.
• SendGrid: sends transactional and automated emails (like ARC and mailing-list signup confirmations, and, for subscribers, automated ARC follow-up reminders) on our behalf, to whatever email address you or your readers provide for that purpose.
• Vercel: hosts the application and provides cookieless usage analytics (Vercel Analytics).

Some features let you enter information about other people, or let other people submit their own information to you (for example, an ARC reader's name or email address, someone signing up for your mailing list, or an editor you're tracking as a candidate). That information is used for your own book-launch, editing, and reader-outreach purposes, and you're responsible for having the right to collect and share it with us for that purpose.

Uploaded book cover images are stored at a public URL; anyone with the link can view it, though it isn't indexed or listed publicly anywhere. Avoid uploading images you consider sensitive.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can request full deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections and database-level access controls that restrict each user to their own data. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Ledger isn't intended for, and we don't knowingly collect information from, children under 13.

You can access, correct, or delete most of your data directly within the app. For anything else, including a full account deletion request, contact us at ledger.app101@gmail.com.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll make a reasonable effort to notify you before they take effect.
